Prolapse Physiotherapy At Personal Best

Movement of the vaginal walls is very common and normal after having babies, whether the delivery has been vaginal or via caesarean section.  The problem is when the movement becomes enough that it is bothersome to the woman involved.  This is usually described as dragging, heaviness or bulging in the vagina.  Interestingly it is also not uncommon for people who have respiratory disease or elite athletes to also experience this condition.

A Women’s Health Physiotherapist is a great resource to help with this problem.  It is very important to assess the whole body and how it is put together to minimise downward pressure from above in the trunk and maximise support from below, that is, the pelvic floor.
